St Paul Episcopal Church, Levittown, PA
An Inclusive Community of Faith in Lower Bucks County

The Church has long taught that Sacraments are outward and physical signs of an inward and spiritual grace.  Sacraments are God's gift to the Church for all of God's people. We invite all people to share in this spiritual journey of the Faith.

Baptism  is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us members of Christ's Body, the Church, and inheritors of the kingdom of God. All are invited to this sacrament no matter from what Christian denomination.  Baptism unites all Christians. In the case of children one the parents needs to be a Christian and promise to raise the child in the Christian Faith and attend a church community.

Eucharist is the sacrament commanded by Christ for the continual remembrance of his life, death, and resurrection.  Like the Roman Catholic, Orthodox, and  Lutheran Churches the Episcopal Church believes the bread and wine are the "Real Presence of Christ." All baptized Christians are welcome to recieve Christ's Body and Blood.

Reconciliation or Confession is the sacrament in which those who repent of their sins may confess them to God in the presence of a priest, and receive the assurance of pardon ,and the grace of absolution.  In the Episcopal Church reconciliation is encouraged, but not mandatory.

Confirmation is the sacrament which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. While most likely this will occur during your teens years all are welcome at any age.

Anointing of the Sick is the sacrament by which God's grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind, and body.  This can occur more than once and can be used as a way topray for others.  At St Paul, this occurs weekly on Tuesday evenings and quarterly on Sundays.

Burial  though not a sacrament is an important time for all.  It is a time of grief and remembrance and also a time to hope in the Resurrection . All are able to partake of this service in this time of need.  You do not have to be a member of the this parish to be buried from it.

Marriage and Blessing of Unions is the sacrament in which two persons enter into a life long union and make their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to fulfill their vows.  You do not have to be member of this parish to be married by its priest.  One of the persons needs to be a Christian.  There is a time of reflection and discernment needed in which one meets with the priest.  Weddings may be in the church or at another location.
